Dear Friend,
Thank you for visiting my new site! I am pleased to announce that I am seeking re-election as the State Senator representing Newton, Brookline and Wellesley (precincts A, C, D, and E). This site will continue to be updated to reflect my history of advocacy, my record of accomplishments, and my goals for the future.
As a lifelong resident of the district, I’ve walked the streets and know the neighborhoods that make us unique as a community of cities and towns. During the weeks and months ahead, I will be sharing with you some of the successes I have had working in the State Senate. These issues include my leadership on landmark stem cell and bio-tech initiatives; leadership on property tax relief for seniors; leadership on systemic pension reform; leadership on food allergy legislation; leadership on protecting and preserving reproductive choice and equal marriage rights; leadership in expanding hate crimes protections to transgendered individuals; and, finally, leadership on education reform and environmental protections.
In the months ahead, our Commonwealth will face the exceptionally difficult task of crafting the FY11 budget with shrinking tax revenue, reduced federal aid, and a higher demand for services. I can assure you I am working with others inside and outside of government to develop reasonable and measured proposals which will assist individuals and local businesses in weathering this economic storm, while staying true to our core values to protect the vulnerable and maintain our quality of life.
Thank you in advance for your support, and I look forward to your joining me on the campaign trail in the weeks and months ahead!
Sincerely,
Cynthia Stone Creem
